Greetings from Strollerqueen!

A nice double stroller with great maneuverability

  • May 17, 2010
I'm not an expert on strollers.  In fact, I've only operated a few strollers in my life.  However, a friend asked how I liked our double stroller and after giving him an average answer, I decided to write a more in-depth review here on Lunch.  I'm hoping this review will:  (1) be helpful to people out there looking for double wide strollers and reading double wide stroller reviews; (2) prove how secure I am with my masculinity; and (3) give me status as the best male member of the Strollerland community.

Without further ado, here's my take on our BumbleRide Indie Twin stroller:

Big Postives:

  • has a bassinet for newborms so an infant can sleep while your older child is sitting in their seat.  This is a big plus and a feature that some double strollers do not have.
  • great maneuverability
    • by definition, double wide strollers are extremely wide and, you would think, unwieldy, but the BumbleRide Indie Twin is extremely maneuverable for its size.
    • I'm able to control it with one hand while we're out walking, which is pretty impressive considering how huge it is.
  • Very wide and roomy for the kids, but still fits through a standard doorway
  • Fits in the back of our Volvo SUV, without folding.
  • Light enough that my wife can lift it and put it in the back of her Volvo SUV by herself.
  • Good snack tray attachment for older kids
  • Good storage underneath the seats
  • When a toddler is in the regular seat, next to the bassinet, the seat reclines a little too much.  In other words, the toddler can't sit upright enough and is always too reclined.  Sometimes its fine, but other times, the little guy just looks too uncomfortabsle if he's trying to sit up and look about.
  • Not enough leg room on the toddler seat.  our toddler is tall and the foot rest is a little out of place for him.   Note:  I think this problem has more to do with the nature of double wide stroller's in general and not necessarily the Twin Indie, specifically.
  • Doesn't fold down when the bassinet is installed.
  • Customer service - compared to the Bugaboo customer service (which is incredible, per my wife), BumbleRide has a ways to go.

Overall, this is a great stroller and the maneuverability alone would cause me to recomend it to my friends.

Theresa was telling me how this stroller fit through a normal doorway and i was incredulous... i made her show me. It fit! I was shocked because it looks so wide.

Can kids over 38 inches tall fit in the Indie Twin?

Not sure. I'll have to check with the wife. I'll get back to you.

Thanks. I like it a lot but the seats look short to me.

Secure with your masculinity?  Kudos to you!  But I wouldn't brag about being the best male member of Strollerland just yet; the ladies of Strollerland might just sign their hubbies up! ;P  Seriously though, great review!  Very informative and I know it will help parents make an informed decision.  Thanks for sharing!

I wish the seats were a little more upright for my toddler, but overall, great stroller with great maneuverability.

This is an all-around fantastic all-terrain double stroller. Comfy, stylish, a dream to push for short or tall parents. HUGE basket!
